How to prevent backup deletion
There are many people who are used to work with backups. They follow the routine of keeping a copy of all the work they do on a daily basis. They think they know that they will not have any problems, because in case they lose the files, they have a USB memory device, external hard disk, CD or DVD where they can rescue the recovered files. However, these people can sometimes encounter a problem: the backup does not work.
It is easier for this to happen than we think. Why is that? Because many times what has messed up the original file (a virus, a serious hardware failure, an oversight of not saving the file in the proper format, etc.) can also end up affecting the physical device where you keep your backups.
This is something that feels particularly bad; in spite of the precautions that have been taken we have lost important files. Hence, there is another solution that is much more practical and useful than storage devices: cloud backups.
Why it is better to make backups in the cloud than on physical devices.
Contrary to what many people think, making backups and distributing them in a cloud network. is far from being “unsafe”, quite the opposite. What is unsafe is that the backups are stored on a single device, which in the event that the device crashes all of them would be affected.
When you make cloud backups what you are doing is distributing encrypted files over a network of servers that provides you with sufficient space, security assurance and data redundancy without incurring additional hardware costs for you.
In this way, you will work more securely, knowing that at any time you will be able to. access your backups and recover them because they will always be in a data center, safe from any accident that may happen to your computer or physical devices.
To offshoring the hardware infrastructure through cloud services, you are preventing your files from disappearing. If you also find an online backup system that allows you to schedule automated backups, you won’t have to worry if you forget to back them up one day, as happens when you back them up manually with an external hard drive or USB stick.
Don’t forget, external hard disks and pen-drives get damaged. and you have to format them. What is in the cloud, distributed in different points, simply gives you security and confidence that you will not lose your files.
